Cloud Platform Lead

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Sr. Platform Engineer - AWS to join our Information Technology division. This individual should have a combination of hands-on cloud experience and a teamwork mindset to lead the implementation of Cloud Platform Services.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for working within the Cloud Platform Services team to ensure the implementation of platform capabilities. This includes incorporating the entire application lifecycle in automation, including end-to-end and performance testing, automated remediation of issues, and an auditable release tracking process.

The successful candidate will drive significant improvements through simplifying and accelerating cloud platform practice both through technical projects and procedural coaching. They will also lead multiple products or work streams simultaneously and guide and coach less experienced peers to become more productive and effective team members.

The Sr. Platform Engineer - AWS will proactively engage with other teams, lead the implementation of continuous delivery systems and methodologies on AWS, and implement software development life cycle to deliver Cloud solutions. Additionally, they will develop automated solutions to monitor and support software development and release processes, lead the automation of security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation, and manage and maintain tools to automate operational processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. You will also require at least ten (10) years of relevant IT experience, seven (7) years of experience working with public cloud platforms, and at least five (5) years of experience with AWS. Additionally, experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment is preferred.

You will also need to hold AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Associate, and AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional certifications.
