Billing Managed Care Coordinator Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Billing Managed Care Coordinator to join our team at Brigham and Women's Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for determining insurance eligibility, obtaining insurance authorizations for diagnostic imaging tests, and documenting them in the Electronic Health Record.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations for diagnostic imaging tests
  • Document authorizations in the Electronic Health Record
  • Participate in performance tracking and reconcile denied cases
  • Obtain retro-authorizations and participate in service improvement initiatives
  • Act as the primary resource to Billing Managed Care Coordinator staff

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or related experience
  • 2-3 years hospital experience preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm. On-site and remote work may be required after successful training.
