Cytogenetics Technologist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Cytogenetics Technologist to join our team at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform complete chromosomal analysis and/or FISH analysis using high resolution microscopes and digital imaging systems.
• Conduct chromosomal analysis on blood, bone marrow and solid tumor specimens for chromosomal changes.
• Under the direction of the Lab Manager, Lead Technologists, and Division Director, responsible for complete chromosomal analysis and/or FISH analysis, as well as clerical and processing procedures leading up to final analysis.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree with MT (ASCP) certification or Bachelor's degree in a certified cytogenetics degree program or a Bachelor's degree in a biological science.
• Post-degree experience in a cytogenetics lab setting and experience in cancer cytogenetic analysis desired.
• Certification as CG (ASCP) required within 2 years of start date.
