Job Summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Materials Scientist to join our team in El Segundo, CA. As a key member of our Materials Science Department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing advanced materials and composites for aerospace applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement new materials and composites for aerospace applications
  2. Design and conduct experiments to test the properties and behavior of materials and composites
  3. Analyze and interpret data to inform the development of new materials and composites
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate materials and composites into aerospace systems

Requirements:

  • PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in materials science and aerospace applications
  • Strong background in polymers and composites
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with design and execution of polymers and composites mechanical testing
  • Knowledge of polymer structure-property relationships and analytical techniques for polymer characterization
  • Ability to travel occasionally for work-related activities
