About the Role
Validity is seeking a Privacy Consultant to administer its established, company-wide privacy program. The successful candidate will use existing tools and policies to assist the business with all privacy-related requests, consult with internal stakeholders to provide perspectives on critical privacy issues, and assist with ongoing goals, milestones, and metrics of Validity's privacy program. This role will apply logical thinking to gather and analyze information, gain buy-in from key stakeholders and senior leadership on privacy program efforts, and formulate plans to mitigate and suggest resolutions to potential privacy risks.

Key Responsibilities
Gain an understanding of Validity's data processing operations to ensure they meet Validity's privacy program requirements.
Work well with internal stakeholders and provide proactive thought leadership, advice, and communications to ensure privacy risk issues are identified, understood, and effectively managed.
Build awareness of the strategic value of privacy and promote strong privacy practices.
Prepare privacy training, communication, and awareness materials. Train internal teams on applicable privacy materials and initiatives.
Implement written policies, procedures, and standards of conduct regarding privacy governance.
Conduct assessments for vendors and new processing and technology (including AI).
Work with internal teams on documenting and maintaining a personal data inventory and Validity's record of processing activities.
Monitor internal compliance against privacy policies and standards by conducting internal audits and risk assessments.
Identify potential areas of risk and compliance vulnerability; develop/implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provide general guidance on how to avoid and remediate similar situations in the future.
Provide assistance to external and/or internal auditors in compliance reviews (ISO27701).
Lead response to suspected privacy incidents and data breaches.
Respond to questions and issues raised by clients, partners, and consumers (DSARs).
Work cross-functionally to ensure Validity's external privacy notices, registrations, and certifications stay accurate and current.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 3-4 years of similar experience in privacy or compliance and risk management, ideally in a Software as a Service (SaaS) organization. Knowledge of US and International data protection regulations and privacy frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, PIPEDA, and others); and applicable industry standards, e.g. DMA guidance. Proficient with privacy management technology such as OneTrust. Certification(s) preferred: CIPP/E/T/US, or similar relevant technical and/or industry certifications in a privacy-related curriculum. Be analytical and assess situations and complex problems quickly in order to make or support privacy decisions. Excellent organization skills, demonstrated sense of responsibility, and results-oriented. Work independently; be effective in a fast-paced environment. Adapt to rapidly changing business processes and work efficiently under tight deadlines. Strong focus on the ability to interact with people at all levels, including executive management.
