Key Responsibilities:
- We are seeking a skilled technician to complete assigned programming, commissioning, basic troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of security and fire systems per contract obligations.
- As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with experienced personnel to resolve system problems by either troubleshooting or advising others on how to resolve issues.
- You must have an understanding of core and third-party security and fire products, software, and systems/electrical technology.
- Other responsibilities include performing required commissioning documentation, providing accurate information for as-built documentation, and maintaining adherence to safety standards and local/national codes.
- A high degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety is essential in this role.
- Communication skills are crucial, and you will engage in continuous proactive customer interactions, including an in-depth understanding of customer needs, wants, and systems currently in place.
- Assisting in monitoring project execution per plan and reporting problems or changes to supervisors or management are also key aspects of this position.
- Additional responsibilities include completing paperwork and on-site documentation as required and performing self-study to obtain technical proficiency on required products and applications.
- Maintaining adherence to and following safety guidelines and policies at all times is paramount in this role.
Requirements:
- An associate degree diploma plus demonstrated technical aptitude is required; one year of experience in installing fire or security systems, or some combination of education and experience, is preferred.
- Education in electronics from an accredited technical school/military electronics training is desired.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts.
- Basic computer skills are required, along with attention to detail.
- Able to explain technical information to non-technical individuals.
