We have a full-time job opening for a Mortgage Loan Underwriter Specialist in the Guaynabo area. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of our customers by providing them with essential financial services and solutions.



Job Description

This employment opportunity involves verifying, compiling, and analyzing application information for mortgage loans. Key responsibilities include studying the information received in the mortgage loan application, understanding the requirements and conditions of each mortgage product, and contacting the client to guide, clarify doubts and request necessary documents.




  • Verifies, compiles, and analyzes application information for mortgage loans.
  • Studies the information received in the mortgage loan application searching for a better understanding of the client and the property intended to finance.
  • Contacts the client to guide, clarify doubts and request necessary documents in order to continue with the evaluation process.
  • Submits required /gathered documents for credit decision and/or loan closing.
  • Analyses and works with appraisal, office documents and legal situations to complete closing.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:




  • A minimum of 1:3 years of experience in the banking industry, risk, mortgage products, and credit policies / procedures.
  • Intermediate knowledge in accounting and economic principles, federal and local banking regulations and financial markets.
  • Two (2) years of experience on income taxes and financial statement analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish, both oral and written.
  • Intermediate/Advance skills in systems such as Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Focused on achieving results through collaboration and teamwork.
  • Skills to develop and maintain good relationships with clients, anticipate their needs, present alternatives to solve situations and provide follow:up to agreements reached.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
