Shop Machinist

Metso is seeking a skilled Shop Machinist to join our Repair Center team in Mesa, AZ. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the tear down, inspection, evaluation, and final assembly of mining-related equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Tear down, inspect, evaluate, and assemble mining-related equipment
• Ensure final assembly and complete associated records and maintenance action forms
• Collaborate with Machine Shop Manager and other Repair Center Management to ensure project completion
• Escalate issues to Repairs Operations Director as necessary
• Develop and implement methods and working processes for complex jobs
• Control quality of work and communicate with QA/QC Personnel
• Consult with employees, contractors, and consultants to resolve maintenance issues and improve equipment utilization
• Perform minor and major repairs of projects received at the Repair Center
• Maintain assembly equipment records and perform other duties as directed

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior repair experience with mining process equipment
• Ability to analyze situations and problems, detect technical discrepancies, and observe safety regulations
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, use, repair, and maintenance
• Basic knowledge of destructive and non-destructive tests
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment and hydraulic pullers and presses
