Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team at Northwell Health. As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our patient financial services department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview patients to obtain necessary financial and insurance information
  • Verify patients' insurance and collect additional insurance information
  • Perform financial assessments of patients and refer potential Medicaid cases to the Medicaid Investigator
  • Gather documentation and assist in the completion of the Financial Assistance Program (FAU) application process
  • Assist patients and/or families in resolving hospital bills and advise them of their payment responsibility
  • Establish patients' pro-rated financial obligations and set up payment arrangements/contracts
  • Follow up on scheduled payments via mail and telephone
  • Process applications for Section 1011, where applicable
  • Maintain daily work logs of payments collected
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience required
