At WHOOP, we're on a mission to empower individuals to perform at their best. Our dynamic team is building innovative data platforms to support large-scale machine learning model training, deployment, and real-time inference. We're seeking a highly skilled Data Science Tooling Technical Lead to join our team and drive the architecture and development of cloud-native machine learning and data-focused tools.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead a small team in designing and implementing scalable tooling solutions, building full-stack applications deployed on AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Collaborate closely with data scientists and signal processing engineers to streamline the training, tuning, and deployment of machine learning models.
  • Work with data scientists, data engineers, product managers, and other key stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Manage, mentor, and coach a small team, fostering collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and growth while implementing best practice technical solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance, promote best practices, and ensure clear, effective communication to support cross-functional teamwork and align with organizational goals.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience leading a cross-functional team, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go for application development.
  • Experience with hosted Cloud services, like AWS, GCP, etc. is required.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments, with a focus on rapid iteration and continuous delivery.
