We are seeking an experienced AMI PMO Manager to join our team. This role will work closely with our Client's PMO and Advanced Metering Infrastructure team to advise and support the Client in improving its PMO framework.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in project portfolio management, with experience in overseeing a portfolio of Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects. They will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with the Client's business process owners, project managers, and project controllers.
The AMI PMO Manager will also be responsible for actively engaging with all stakeholders to understand short-term priorities and working with the Client's PMO consultants, project managers, and project tools specialists to define deliverables and plan necessary activities.

Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Client's business process owners on PMO and Project Controlling side as well as project managers and project controllers themselves.
- Actively engage with all stakeholders on the Client's side to understand the short-term priorities in terms of changes to implement to project scheduling, cost forecasting, and project reporting.
- Working with the Client's PMO consultants, project managers, project schedulers, and project tools specialists to define the deliverables and plan the necessary activities.
- Leveraging his/her experience as a project portfolio leader, continuously assess the shortfalls and pain points with the Client's current mode of operation and provide recommendations addressing them.
- Supports each of the seven (7) detailed expected outcomes for AMI deployment. Particularly ensuring that necessary integrations for the IT systems and processes are completed.
- Working with tools specialists, and Client's IT teams, contribute to the design and implementation plan of the tool's changes.
- Manages team's work so that it is completed on time, on budget, and within required scope.
- Define processes and tools improvements that enable the reporting of portfolio KPIs, and present accurate representations of project progress, health, risks, and challenges.
- Oversee and contribute to the development, validation, and maintenance of the proposed improvements.
- Acts as a champion to foster a positive project work environment; and successfully leads the team to accomplish all the project objectives on time and on budget.
- Effectively communicate to the client, IT Leadership, project teams, and TRC management.
- Perform other duties as required by management.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business, or Project Management from an accredited school or University is required. Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is desired.
- Experience in an energy utility or EPC environment.
- Previous experience implementing a PMO Organization, PMO Framework, and tools.
- Minimum of 10 years of process improvement experience inside an enterprise PMO or Project Controlling organization successfully managing complex cross-functional transformational Projects and projects.
- Demonstrated experience of leading the integration of AMI Meters is preferred.
- Expertise within the IT field so that deliverables are managed with the appropriate level of expertise.
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills to deal with internal/external clients.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively on projects and exercise discretion and confidentiality where required.
- Good understanding of the regulatory and non-regulatory environment.
- Experience with software tools (Microsoft Office, MS Project, Power Bi).
- Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, overtime, holidays as needs dictate.
- Valid driver's license is required.
