Job Summary
The Condado Collection is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef D' Partie to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and presentation.
Responsibilities
Cook food and prepare top-quality menu items in a timely manner according to recipes/menu.
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with hotel and restaurant standards and specifications.
Maintain consistent quality of food by following recipes and presentation standards.
Conduct regular checks of food quality, freshness, and presentation.
Supervise and train kitchen staff in your section, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Communicate effectively with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth service.
Assist in inventory management, including ordering and controlling stock levels.
Minimize food waste and contribute to cost control measures.
Coordinates the purchase of all food items and develops menus while maintaining approved food and labor costs.
Maintain proper food storage practices to comply with health and safety standards.
Contribute ideas for menu development and seasonal specials in collaboration with the Head Chef.
Stay updated on culinary trends and techniques.
Responsible for the complete setup, cleanliness, and organization of the department/kitchen areas within the restaurant.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen at all times.
Occasionally interact with guests to enhance their dining experience and gather feedback.
Keeps records and accounts.
Understands the impact of kitchen operations on the overall property's financial goals and objectives.
Follows all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the supervisor.
Completes safety training and certifications.
Develops and maintains positive working relationships with others, supports the team in reaching common goals, and listens and responds appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
Ensures uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, and maintains confidentiality of proprietary information.
Performs other reasonable job duties as requested by his manager.
Requirements
Hospitality oriented
3 years minimum in a supervisory role as chef in a high volume, multioutlet hotel or restaurant..
Management experience.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Able to handle difficult situations effectively
Able to work quickly and efficiently, especially under pressure
Must be able to bend, squat, stretch, stand for 2-3 hours at a time, and lift weighing up to 50 pounds.
Must have computer skills (Microsoft Office)
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Should work well under pressure, even with minimal supervision
Fully bilingual (Spanish & English)
