About the Role

Amergis is seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to join our team. As a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide speech and language services to individuals with communication disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Speech-Language Pathologist in providing speech and language services, including screenings, assessments, and treatment planning.
  • Provide components of a speech and language program as specified in the treatment plan developed by the supervising SLP.
  • Assist with bilingual translation during screening and assessment activities.
  • Provide timely and accurate documentation of student performance and reports this information to the supervising SLP.
  • May adapt educational materials and equipment for the purpose of providing intervention and/or meeting the student needs.
  • May serve as an interpreter for students and families who do not speak English.
  • May assist with clerical duties, such as preparing materials and scheduling activities, as directed by the SLP.
  • Cleans and maintains equipment used in the field in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Reports reaction(s) to treatment or change(s) in condition of the student to the supervising SLP and alternate clinical designee as indicated.
Requirements
  • Must be a graduate of a SLPA program with an associate's degree, or have a bachelor's degree in a speech-language pathology or communication disorders program.
  • Successful completion of a minimum of 100 hours of supervised field work experience or its clinical experience equivalent as required by state and/or contract.
  • Current certification or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in the State of Practice.
  • Must comply with accepted professional standards and practice.
  • One (1) year of prior professional Speech-Language Pathology Assistant experience preferred.
