Oriental Summer Internship Program 2024

The Oriental Bank Summer Internship Program (SIP), offers an excellent opportunity to gain real-world experience in one of Puerto Rico’s leading banking and financial services companies. The 2024 Summer Internship Program will allow you to contribute and impact for our business strategies during nine (9) weeks, through innovation driven projects by engaging and connecting with leaders, customers, and technology. The Internship will be performed within our business segments and functions which may include: Retail Channels, Customer Intelligence & Operations, Information Technology, Risk & Compliance, Internal Audit, Auto, Retail Business Development, Oriental Financial Services (Wealth Management), Finance & Accounting, Marketing, Corporate & Institutional Banking, among others. This position will be working hybrid based in San Juan, PR.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Manage a project’s full life cycle helping to solve complex business issues or improve processes guided by an experienced mentor and contribute to Oriental’s business results. Work with individuals and teams across Oriental Bank by engaging in ongoing collaboration, consultation, and relationships with internal and external client groups. Assess needs and opportunities through various methodologies. Propose and implement solutions to achieve our digital transformation, increased productivity and efficiency through data-driven solutions and recommendations. Challenge assumptions, design, enhance and operate within risk management and compliance procedures.

WHAT YOU NEED:

Be enrolled at an accredited university or college required. Undergrad students with expected graduation dates before May 2025 are highly preferred. Master's and Doctorate students as well as females are encouraged to apply. Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Engineering, Data Analytics / Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Project Management, Sciences, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Supply Chain, Marketing, and/or related majors required. Other majors can be considered. Previous Internship / Co-op experience highly desirable. Strong analytical, problem solving, innovation, influence and decision-making skills required. Digital and financial skills preferred. Have a project and process mindset with detail-orientation who can manage timelines for optimum productivity, effectiveness, and quality.  Proficiency in computer systems, including MS Office (Work, Excel & Power Point) required. Working knowledge and exposure to databases, visualization, querying, and other tools preferred Tools preferred from some roles: knowledge of databases, visualization, querying, and other tools preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills both in English and Spanish required. Availability to work on-site, hybrid and on a remote basis during the summer of 2024 required. Availability to travel, highly preferred. Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship required.
