About the roleWhat you need to know:

The position needs to lead and manage the Medium Complexity (Segmented Claims) team, to ensure a high performing team of Adjusters, ensuring Departmental and line of business best practices are adhered to and strategic goals. To provide technical referral expertise and authority for cases.

Essential responsibilities include:   

  • The provision of technical support, guidance, and best practice standards for medium complexity claims.
  • Provide a technical referral point for team members and manage performance.
  • Keep the Claims Global and Regional and Local Heads advised of key medium complexity loss developments and wider complex trends.
  • Conduct periodic claims audit / review.
  • Provide technical training to claims adjusters within the Claims Unit.
  • Drive a high-performance team to deliver high standards of customer service while continually seeking new ways to deliver innovative claim service.
  • Effective resolution of complex level claims handled.
  • Accurate and consistent reserving and financial control of claims.
  • Mitigation of indemnity and expense spent.
  • Performance manages the team to maximize best practice compliance and minimize lost economic opportunity.
  • Managing compliance with governance standards and regulatory requirements
  • Effective communication to all relevant stakeholders
  • Managing / controlling GOE budget within Complex Claims.

What we’re looking for:
  • Juris Doctor or Bachelor’s degree and industry experience.
  • Local independent adjuster license (required).
  • This position is suitable to candidates with experience in medium complexity claims (Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines Financial Lines).  
  • Understanding of insurance concepts and familiarity with policy language / interpretation.
  • Proficient in legal, regulatory and procedural requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish (written & verbal).
  • Computer literate in MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc).
  • Possess strong collaborative skills to contribute effectively within a team setting.
  • Ability to work with claims stakeholders to effectively direct claims strategy.
  • Exceedingly customer service oriented.
