Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, highly detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the corporation. This individual will handle all aspects of corporate accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls for our multi-unit retail environment.
The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with QuickBooks Enterprise Edition 23 and a proven track record in multi-location retail accounting (including cash management, inventory tracking, and sales audit controls). As well of advance MS Excel skills
- Location: Corporate Office, Carolina Puerto Rico
- Reports To: General Manager
- System Ownership: Serve as the primary administrator and expert for QuickBooks Enterprise Edition 23 , ensuring data integrity, proper chart of accounts maintenance, and optimal utilization of the software’s reporting features.
- Multi-Store Reconciliation: Manage, audit, and reconcile daily cash, credit card, and point-of-sale (POS) data across all 19 retail locations.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee and streamline the full cycle of accounts payable (vendor management, terms negotiation tracking) and accounts receivable.
- Inventory Accounting: Partner with the Purchasing Manager to audit inventory valuations, track shrinkage, manage cost of goods sold (COGS), and reconcile physical inventory counts in QuickBooks.
- Month-End/Year-End Close: Lead the monthly and annual closing processes, preparing timely and accurate financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Fiduciary Reporting: Provide monthly financial packets and transparency reports directly to executive leadership and ownership.
- Tax & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with Puerto Rico tax laws, including the preparation and filing of IVU (sales tax), municipal licenses (patentes municipales), property taxes (CRIM), and informational returns. Coordinate with external CPA firms for annual tax filings.
- Payroll & Banking: Oversee payroll processing compliance and manage bank reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, and treasury functions.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. A CPA license or Master’s degree is a strong plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a retail, wholesale, or multi-unit business environment.
- Expert-level proficiency in QuickBooks is strictly required.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, financial modeling). Experience integrating POS systems with QuickBooks is highly preferred.
- Languages: Fully bilingual (English and Spanish) with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Strong analytical skills with an ability to spot trends, discrepancies, and operational inefficiencies.
- Ability to work independently, establish internal controls, and build out institutional accounting processes from scratch.
