Walking Tour Guide — Old San Juan, Puerto Rico

We're looking for two friendly, dependable local guides to lead engaging walking tours in Old San Juan. Give visitors a memorable introduction through local history, culture, storytelling, and great guest service.

We offer competitive pay starting at US$50 per tour, with opportunities for guest tips. We're looking for guides interested in building an ongoing working relationship as bookings grow.

About the experience

Lead a 90-minute English-language outdoor walking tour for up to 12 guests. Meet guests at Plaza Colón in Old San Juan. The route includes Plaza de Armas, the historic streets of Old San Juan, the cathedral exterior, La Puerta de San Juan, and Paseo de la Princesa, with time for stories, questions, and scenic photo stops.

Responsibilities

* Welcome guests, confirm attendance, and explain the tour.

* Lead the established route and share accurate, engaging local stories.

* Keep the group together, manage the pace, and deliver the advertised experience on time.

* Facilitate the listing's advertised photo stops and assist guests with photos within the confirmed service offering.

* Communicate meeting instructions and coordinate with late or lost guests through the booking system.

* Monitor weather and route conditions, respond calmly to guest concerns, and promptly report issues to the owner.

* Confirm availability and arrive at the agreed preparation time before each departure.

Ideal candidates

* Live locally or can reliably reach the tour meeting point.

* Communicate clearly in English and enjoy sharing local history and culture.

* Are punctual, personable, organized, and comfortable leading groups.

* Can perform the outdoor walking duties with reasonable accommodation.

* Have a smartphone and reliable communication.

* Bring guiding, hospitality, teaching, or customer-service experience.

* Current Puerto Rico Tourism Company tour-guide certification is required before guiding assignments. English and Spanish proficiency must be consistent with the certification requirements.

Schedule

The current product schedule lists departures daily at 9:30 a.m. Puerto Rico local time. Individual assignments depend on bookings and agreed availability. No guaranteed hours or confirmed work start date are promised.
