Senior Backend Developer

Role Description The Senior Backend Developer will design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable backend services that support high-volume transaction processing and mission-critical financial applications. This full-time, on-site role in Caguas involves implementing APIs, optimizing database interactions, and integrating with internal and external payment systems. Responsibilities include writing clean, maintainable code, performing code reviews, troubleshooting production issues, and improving system performance and reliability. The person in this role will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to architectural decisions, and ensure adherence to security, compliance, and quality standards. Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and systems design.
- Proficiency in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and database integration.
- Experience in Software Development, covering the full SDLC, from requirements analysis to deployment and maintenance.
- Advanced Programming skills in one or more backend languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, Go) and scripting tools.
- Expertise in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, message queues, and distributed systems.
- Understanding of secure coding practices, performance optimization, and high-availability architectures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Experience in payments, fintech, or other mission-critical transaction processing environments is a plus.
