About the Role
Our client is seeking a Legal HR Generalist to join the Human Resources team. This opportunity is ideal for a professional who is currently pursuing a Juris Doctor (JD) and has an interest in developing a career at the intersection of Human Resources, employment law, and employee relations. The selected candidate will work closely with HR leadership and gain hands-on exposure to key areas such as employee relations, HR policies, compliance, recruitment, performance management, and general HR operations. This role is designed for someone who wants to continue developing both their legal and HR knowledge while gaining practical business experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day Human Resources operations and employee-related matters.
- Assist with employee relations situations, documentation, and follow-up.
- Support the development, review, and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Assist with matters related to employment regulations and HR compliance.
- Participate in recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and employee lifecycle processes.
- Support performance management and employee development initiatives.
- Prepare and maintain HR documentation, reports, personnel files, and internal communications.
- Assist HR leadership with workplace investigations and employee concerns.
- Support benefits administration and other HR programs as needed.
- Collaborate with managers and employees to address HR questions and provide guidance.
- Participate in special HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop knowledge of the organization's HR practices, employment matters, and overall business operations. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Labor Relations, or a related field.
- Currently pursuing a Juris Doctor (JD), preferably in the second year of law school or beyond.
- Previous exposure to Human Resources through professional experience, internships, or related roles preferred.
- Interest in employment law, employee relations, and Human Resources.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with different levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
