Role Description The Civil Engineer, EIT role is a contract, on-site position based in Ponce. The individual in this role supports the planning, design, and inspection of civil engineering projects, including preparing calculations, drawings, and technical documentation in alignment with project requirements and applicable codes. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with site assessments, gathering and analyzing data, coordinating with senior engineers, and participating in design reviews. The role also involves collaborating with project managers and multidisciplinary teams, attending on-site meetings, and helping track project progress and deliverables. The Civil Engineer, EIT is expected to apply engineering fundamentals, maintain accurate records, and contribute to efficient, safe, and compliant project outcomes. Qualifications
• Foundational civil engineering knowledge, including structural, transportation, or infrastructure design, and familiarity with relevant codes and standards.
• Proficiency with engineering and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD or similar drafting software, basic modeling or analysis tools, and MS Office for reports and spreadsheets).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret technical data, perform calculations, and support sound engineering decisions.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, including the ability to collaborate with project managers, senior engineers, and clients on-site.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills for documentation, inspection reports, and project tracking.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or eligibility to obtain it within a reasonable timeframe.
• Ability to work on-site in Ponce, including conducting field visits and inspections as required.
• Prior internship or entry-level experience in civil engineering, design, or construction is beneficial.
