What You'll Do
• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities across multiple entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Maintain complete and up-to-date general ledgers; prepare and record journal entries for revenue, deferred revenue, accruals, prepaid expenses, adjustments, and intercompany transactions.
• Own assigned balance sheet and general ledger accounts, including reconciliations, supporting schedules, and timely investigation and resolution of discrepancies.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of multiple bank accounts and monitor, review, and reconcile corporate credit card activity, expense classifications, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare revenue recognition entries and reconcile ticket sales, service fees, commissions, merchant processing activity, and other revenue streams across multiple entities.
• Prepare event sales reports, financial reconciliations, and event settlement statements, including refunds, chargebacks, consignment activity, applicable fees, deductions, and outstanding balances; coordinate distribution and follow-up as needed.
• Review and reconcile event-related expenses, promoter and venue balances, and related financial activity; escalate unresolved differences.
• Review vendor invoices and expenses for accurate accounting treatment, supporting documentation, and applicable withholding requirements; maintain vendor tax records. Payment execution and approval remain with the Controller.
• Prepare and file monthly Puerto Rico Sales and Use Tax (IVU) returns for the company and its subsidiary, including related reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Reconcile and monitor state and municipal IVU collections and remittances associated with the company’s marketplace facilitator responsibilities; follow up on municipal event compliance requirements.
• Calculate and reconcile vendor and professional services withholding, prepare related deposits and quarterly returns, and prepare annual informative returns and supporting records.
• Monitor regulatory deadlines and coordinate required documentation, filings, and follow-up with Puerto Rico tax agencies and municipalities.
• Coordinate annual compliance with the Corporación del Fondo del Seguro del Estado (CFSE), including payroll declarations, policy renewal, and related documentation and follow-up.
• Coordinate accounts payable documentation, track outstanding vendor invoices and statements, investigate billing discrepancies, and maintain accurate vendor records; payment execution and approval remain with the Controller.
• Reconcile accounts receivable, accounts payable, prepaid expenses, accruals, and other assigned balance sheet accounts; maintain clear supporting schedules and follow up on outstanding items.
• Monitor outstanding promoter, venue, and other third-party balances, investigate variances, and maintain accurate receivable and payable records.
• Maintain organized accounting documentation, including invoices, statements, contracts, transaction support, and evidence needed for audit and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain a month-end close checklist and accounting deadlines calendar; track open items and ensure timely completion of reconciliations and entries.
• Support preparation of financial statements, management reporting packages, audit schedules, and documentation requested for annual financial audits.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls, improve accounting workflows, and support ad hoc financial analyses and special projects. What We're Looking For
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience with month-end close processes, journal entries, bank and credit card reconciliations, and financial reporting.
