Position overview
JC Automation (JCA) is seeking a Data Analytics & Reporting Specialist to join its team supporting global pharmaceutical manufacturing clients. The initial assignment supports a global Manufacturing Execution System (MES) program, with SQL-based reporting, Power BI dashboards and data integration for manufacturing sites globally.
The specialist builds queries and views in Microsoft SQL Server, migrates reports and visualizations that consume Oracle data to MS-SQL, and delivers validated reporting solutions through the Microsoft Power Platform. The role works with site stakeholders and global MES teams in a GMP-regulated environment.
Key responsibilities
• Design, build and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that visualize MES and manufacturing data for site and global stakeholders.
• Write and optimize queries, stored procedures and views in Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL).
• Migrate existing reports and visualizations that consume Oracle (PL/SQL) data sources to MS-SQL-based data sources.
• Create MS-SQL views that interconnect MES data with other tools, applications and systems.
• Develop solutions with Power Apps and Power Automate where they add value to reporting and data workflows.
• Build and support web pages and tools hosted in Microsoft Azure for the global MES program.
• Gather reporting requirements from site teams in Puerto Rico, the US, Europe and Asia, and translate them into technical specifications.
• Prepare and execute computer system validation (CSV) deliverables for reports and tools: requirements, design specifications, test scripts (IQ/OQ/PQ) and traceability, following GAMP 5 and 21 CFR Part 11.
• Support MES implementations and migrations, such as PMX to PharmaSuite, by ensuring reporting continuity and data integrity across sites.
• Manage changes through change control and maintain documentation in line with client quality procedures.
• Coordinate across time zones with global MES teams, site IT, quality and operations. Required qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in data analytics or reporting, ideally in pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device manufacturing.
• Strong Microsoft SQL Server
skills:
complex queries, views, stored procedures and performance tuning in T-SQL.
• Working knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL, with the ability to migrate queries and reports from Oracle to MS-SQL.
• Hands-on Power BI
experience:
data modeling, DAX, report design and publishing to the Power BI service.
• Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), such as PharmaSuite, PAS-X, Syncade or similar, and an understanding of electronic batch records and shop-floor data.
• Experience writing and executing CSV documentation (URS, FS/DS, IQ/OQ/PQ, traceability matrix) in a GMP environment.
• Knowledge of GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11 and data integrity (ALCOA+) principles.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken. Preferred qualifications
• Experience with Microsoft Azure (App Service, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory or similar) for hosting web tools and data services.
• Experience with Power Apps and Power Automate.
• Prior work on an MES implementation or migration, especially Rockwell PharmaSuite.
• Web development skills (HTML, JavaScript, C# or similar) for building internal tools.
• Experience supporting multiple manufacturing sites or global programs.
• Spanish proficiency is a plus. Soft skills
• Clear communicator with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Self-directed and organized; able to manage several site deliverables at once.
• Comfortable working remotely with teams across time zones. Education and work conditions
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
•
Location:
remote.
• Occasional meetings outside regular hours to align with teams globally.
• Open question: travel requirements, to be confirmed.
