We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead and scale a high-performing sales organization within a fast-paced foodservice and distribution environment. This role is ideal for a strategic sales leader with a strong track record of managing large, multi-level teams and driving profitable growth across multiple territories.
Position Overview
The Sales Manager will partner closely with senior sales leadership to execute the commercial strategy while overseeing the full sales organization, including District Sales Managers, Account Managers, and Customer Service teams. This position plays a critical role in developing sales talent, expanding market reach, and ensuring operational excellence across the customer base.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop a broad sales organization, managing both direct and indirect reports across a large team structure
Drive execution of strategic sales and marketing initiatives aligned with company growth objectives
Establish and optimize sales territories, pricing strategy, promotions, and margin performance
Build short- and long-term growth plans across new markets, categories, and customer segments
Conduct market and customer analysis to develop territory-level budgets and category strategies
Ensure adoption of CRM tools, analytics, and sales technologies to improve forecasting and performance
Manage external sales partners, including brokers and manufacturer representatives
Deliver customer proposals and serve as a senior-facing leader in key account relationships
Resolve escalated customer issues and ensure a seamless sales operation across teams
Lead sales meetings, trade events, food shows, and industry seminars
Partner cross-functionally with credit and internal stakeholders to support receivables and compliance
Preferred Background
We have a strong preference for candidates with experience in foodservice distribution, including managing complex sales channels and high-volume customer portfolios.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field preferred
4–6+ years of foodservice or distribution-related sales experience with leadership responsibility
7+ years of progressive sales management experience strongly preferred
Demonstrated success leading large teams with layered reporting structures
Expertise in strategic planning, forecasting, territory execution, and margin growth
Strong CRM proficiency (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar)
Excellent communication, relationship-building, and team leadership skills
Ability to travel up to 20%
