Job Description
The Mechanical Instrument Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of mechanical and electro mechanical instrumentation used in industrial processes. This role focuses on ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and mechanical integrity of instruments while complying with safety standards, GMP requirements, and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Install, inspect, maintain, calibrate, and repair mechanical and pneumatic instrumentation.
Service field instruments including pressure gauges, control valves, regulators, actuators, flow meters, and relief devices.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical instrumentation to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Troubleshoot mechanical failures and perform root cause analysis.
Assist in the alignment, adjustment, and assembly of mechanical components related to instrumentation systems.
Verify instrument functionality and mechanical integrity according to approved procedures.
Read and interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and technical specifications.
Support commissioning, start‑up, and shutdown of equipment and process systems.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, GMP, and company maintenance practices.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and calibration documentation.
Collaborate with engineering, electrical, automation, and production teams.
Qualifications
Technical diploma or Associate degree in Mechanical Technology, Instrumentation, or a related field.
Experience performing mechanical maintenance and instrumentation work in an industrial environment (pharmaceutical, chemical, oil & gas, manufacturing, or utilities preferred).
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of process equipment and instruments.
Knowledge of pneumatic systems, control valves, and mechanical measurement devices.
Ability to use hand tools, precision tools, and mechanical testing equipment safely.
12 hours shifts (5:00AM-5:00PM and 5:00PM to 5:00AM)
