Health, Safety, And Environment Officer
*Overview*
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer to champion our commitment to a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace. *Responsibilities*
* Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health, safety, and environmental policies aligned with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), NEC, and other relevant regulations.
* Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify hazards and implement corrective actions promptly.
* Lead incident investigations using root cause analysis techniques to determine underlying issues and prevent recurrence.
* Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspection reports, training logs, and compliance documentation.
* Collaborate with management to develop emergency response plans and coordinate drills to ensure preparedness for various scenarios.
* Stay current with evolving EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) regulations and industry best practices to continuously enhance safety programs.
* The project will be based in northern Puerto Rico. The candidate must be available to travel to our headquarters in Coamo, Puerto Rico, periodically.
*Qualifications*
* Proven experience in manufacturing environments with a strong understanding of OSHA standards, EPA regulations, and workers' compensation law.
* Certifications in first aid, CPR, OSHA safety training, and environmental management are highly desirable.
* Demonstrated ability to conduct report writing, root cause analysis, and incident investigations effectively.
* Excellent communication skills for delivering training sessions and engaging diverse teams in safety initiatives.
* Knowledge of occupational health principles and experience implementing training & development programs related to EHS topics.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple compliance records accurately.
