We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Department Paramedic to join our team at Nationwide Children's Hospital. As a Paramedic in our Emergency Department, you will be responsible for providing emergency medical services to patients in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:- Perform selected ordered interventions and diagnostic procedures, maintaining a septic/sterile technique as appropriate.
- Responsible for performing basic supportive care to specified patients/families under the direction and supervision of an RN/Care Manager.
- Functions as a Constant Attendant and performs other related duties as assigned.
- Accompanies and assists in transportation of patients to other diagnostic or treatment areas within the hospital.
- Functions as a team member and performs other related duties as assigned.
- High school graduate or equivalent with good verbal and written communication skills.
- Certified by the State of Ohio as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic.
- Minimum of one (1) year pediatric patient care experience or one (1) year field experience as Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic preferred.
- Demonstrates ability to work under stress using sound judgement.
- Successful completion of PALS within 18 months of hire.
