Role Summary


We are seeking a seasoned Underwriter to join our Financial Lines team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underwriting, with experience in evaluating risks and determining acceptability.


Key Responsibilities



  • Evaluate risks and refer analysis for underwriter approval to increase production on profitable lines of business.
  • Negotiate internally and externally the underwriting of accounts and analyze financial statements, applications, and other supporting documents.
  • Determine the acceptability of the risk and appropriate premium for coverage offered in accordance with established underwriting guidelines.
  • Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills to integrate with key brokers and provide excellent service.
  • Provide support in the training of brokers and insureds about our products.
  • Contribute to operational efficiencies.

Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (Finance or Accounting preferred).
  • Proficient in Adobe and MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish, including verbal, written, and negotiation.
  • Analytical thinking and strategic viewpoint to understand and manage complex clients.
  • Proven excellent customer service skills supporting internal and external clients.
