Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor to join our team at the Veterans Benefits Administration. As a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, you will play a critical role in providing rehabilitation counseling and case management services to veterans with service-connected disabilities and other eligible individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial rehabilitation evaluations and entitlement assessments to determine the needs and goals of our clients.
- Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans to help our clients achieve their employment and independent living objectives.
- Provide counseling and case management services to our clients, including job placement, career development, and vocational planning.
- Collaborate with other professionals, including Vet Centers, career centers, and local Disabled Veterans' Outreach Program, to provide comprehensive support services to our clients.
- Conduct counseling sessions using a variety of approaches, including tele-counseling, to meet the needs of our clients.
Requirements:
- A master's degree in rehabilitation counseling or a related field, including an internship.
- One year of post-graduate level professional vocational rehabilitation counseling experience, equivalent to the GS-11 level.
- Specialized experience in delivering vocational rehabilitation services to adults with disabilities, including determining entitlement ranges from simple to complex.
Working Conditions: This position is located in an office environment with minimal exposure to injury. The work requires frequent mental and visual concentration for computer usage and reading/assimilating technical information, as well as observing and recognizing behavioral cues.
