Tax Manager

Walmart is seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our Indirect Tax Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the preparation and review of sales and use tax returns, product tax filings, excise tax returns, transaction tax filings, and gross receipt tax filing for multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the preparation and review of sales and use tax returns, product tax filings, excise tax returns, transaction tax filings, and gross receipt tax filing for multiple jurisdictions.
• Research and analyze complex tax issues, provide guidance on tax implications of business transactions, and utilize tax data to optimize tax strategies.
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and enhance cash flow.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with tax authorities and external advisors.
• Manage Tax Audits and inquires, negotiate with Tax authorities, and resolve tax disputes.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations, monitor changes in tax legislation, and communicate implications to the organization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline and improve indirect tax processes and procedures.
• Mentor and develop junior team members, providing ongoing feedback and identifying opportunities for growth.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field; CPA or advanced degree in Taxation is a plus.
• 3-8 years of experience in Indirect Tax, preferably with exposure to retail, big 4, or mid-tier firms.
• Strong knowledge of sales and use tax, product tax, excise tax, transaction tax, gross receipts tax, and tax technical concepts.
• Proficiency in tax data analysis and leveraging data to optimize tax strategies.
• Experience working with multiple jurisdictions and navigating complex tax regulations.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
