At St. Vincent's Hospital Westchester, we are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Specialist to join our Residential Housing Team. As a Peer Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in their recovery journey, promoting independence, and fostering a sense of community.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide peer support and advocacy to clients, empowering them to take control of their lives and make informed decisions.
- Collaborate with the program manager/supervisor to develop and implement individualized recovery plans.
- Model effective coping techniques and self-help strategies, promoting healthy behaviors and lifestyles.
- Support clients in accessing community resources, services, and treatment options.
- Assist clients in monitoring their progress, setting goals, and celebrating successes.
- Minimum one year experience in behavioral health services or a mental health setting.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- High School or GED equivalent required; Bachelor preferred; Peer Certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license in good standing.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
