Data/Platform Architect Job Description



We are seeking an experienced Data/Platform Architect to join our team at Saxon Global. As a Data/Platform Architect, you will be responsible for designing and delivering enterprise-wide solutions on cloud platforms.



This position works closely with enterprise architects, data architects, and solution architects to design and implement data solutions that meet business priorities while adhering to technology strategy, standards, and best practices.



The successful candidate will be an engineering specialist proficient in modern computing, big data, and advanced analytics architectures and patterns, with a consistent record of delivering high-quality products. This position reports to enterprise/principal architects and works under their guidance.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand their technical needs and develop architecture designs/solutions.
  • Help with proof-of-concepts and build data pipelines in cloud and big data spaces.
  • Implement technical best methods, technical solutions, interpret trends, and patterns in collaboration with engineering teams under architecture team guidance.
  • Improve data quality and efficiency of data processing channels, always looking for optimizations.
  • Perform data profiling, data analysis, and data modeling.


Requirements:




  • Hands-on experience with AWS services, including S3, Lambda, Redshift, IAM roles, Kafka, Glue, Athena, Lakeformation.
  • Extensive SQL knowledge with working experience on Redshift platforms.
  • Working knowledge of data modeling concepts.
  • Working knowledge of Master data, Reference data, and Data Governance concepts.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools and technologies, preferably TalenD.
  • Accomplished in software/platform design principles.
  • Skilled at understanding, documenting, and describing complex technical subjects, and aligning business capabilities to technology solutions.
