Mortgage Collateral Specialist

About the Role:
As a Mortgage Collateral Specialist at Popular Bank, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our collateral management process. Your primary responsibility will be to receive, validate, and organize original mortgage collateral, ensuring that it is complete, accurate, and securely stored in our designated vault. You will also be responsible for tracking collateral received and distributing it to employees to ensure timely delivery to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and collect original collateral, including opening and closing tasks in the MSP system and maintaining a detailed log.
- Validate each collateral item to ensure it is original, complete, and accurate, with adequate endorsements.
- Organize collaterals and cancellation documents and assign them to the corresponding employee according to established itineraries and timeframes for delivery to customers.
- Request collaterals from custodians or investors as needed.
Requirements:
- At least one year of experience in administrative tasks and customer service, preferably in the mortgage area.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze and verify data integrity.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, with excellent prioritization and multitasking skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork experience.
- Knowledge of MS Office 365 applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, and SharePoint, with a preference for MSP application experience.
