Electrical Control Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer to join our team at Actalent. As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and installing new PLC-based control systems for a leading automotive supplier.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop new PLC-based control systems for various applications.
- Onsite commissioning of electrical and function validation equipment, focusing on I/O checkout, system testing, and start-up support.
- Maintain and modify Human Machine Interface (HMI) displays and graphics via multiple computer systems.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and develop corrective actions for equipment performance issues.
- Produce and update documents, including work/user instructions, functional specifications, detailed design specifications, electrical and pneumatic schematics, etc.
- Develop and maintain robotic equipment, such as Fanuc and Universal Robots.
- Deploy and maintain electronic safety systems, including Safety PLCs, Area Scanners, Light curtains, etc.
- Deploy and maintain error-proofing devices, such as Keyence, Cognex, and SICK vision systems.
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Control Engineer within the automotive manufacturing industry.
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline (or 10+ years of direct experience if no degree completed).
- Working knowledge of Allen Bradley RSLogix500 / 5000, Factory Talk View Studio, DeviceNet, and EthernetIP.
- Understanding and application of ladder logic principles, control for I/O, and ability to understand PLC commands and HMI usage.
- Demonstrated experience in Electrical Control System Design, PLC programming, and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated use of electrical devices, such as proximity switches, load cells, LVDTs, signal conditioners, etc.
- Ability to read and understand technical documents, schematic design specifications.
