Job Summary:

As a Surgical Technologist at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician, you will assist in preparing patients for surgery, maintaining a safe and sterile environment, and supporting the surgical team during procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing patients for surgery, including positioning and draping
  • Maintain a safe and sterile environment, including handling and processing surgical instruments and equipment
  • Support the surgical team during procedures, including passing instruments and supplies
  • Participate in departmental performance improvement activities, including planning, measuring, and assessing
  • Collaborate with the Registered Nurse and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved surgical technologist program
  • One year of experience in an operating room setting, including scrubbing and assisting in a variety of surgical procedures
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual Spanish language skills
  • Experience with computer systems and software
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
