Balance Health is a leading comprehensive lower-extremity focused Physician Practice seeking an experienced Histotechnologist to join our team in Santa Monica, CA.

The Histotechnologist will assist in preparing specimens and slides for pathologist examination, including gross examination, preparation and cutting of blocks, preparation and staining of slides. The successful candidate will maintain tissues, blocks, and slides according to policy and perform all safety, maintenance, and quality control activities.

• Specimen accessioning and embedding
• Microtomy and staining
• QC/QA participation and filing of blocks and slides
• Supply inventory management and ordering
• Proper use of LIS and troubleshooting of equipment
• Grossing of skin specimens and preparation of solutions

• HT (ASCP) certification or equivalent and 3+ years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related scientific discipline
• Graduation from an accredited Associate's degree program and certification as a Technician by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
