Scrum Master

Job Summary: Marriott International is seeking a skilled Scrum Master to join our Software Engineering - Data Platforms team. As a key member of our Agile team, you will play a crucial role in driving project success and ensuring the team's adherence to Scrum principles.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  
  
• Plan, assign, direct, and coordinate activities pertaining to data technology projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  
  
• Verify project goals are accomplished and in line with business objectives, providing regular progress updates and recommendations for improvement.
  
  
• Partner with Product Managers to maintain plans and communicate progress of the team, including product roadmaps, scrum team metrics, and program/project status reporting.
  
  
• Proactively identify impediments and resolve using network of peers or escalation if needed, ensuring the team's smooth operation and effective communication.
  
  

Requirements:

• 
  
  
• 7+ years' experience in applying Agile and Scrum principles within teams and/or organizations, using agile metrics to analyze and improve sprint planning.
  
  
• 7+ years' planning and problem-solving with product management and delivery teams, working within agile frameworks or methods (e.g., SAFe, Scrum, Kanban).
  
  
• 5+ years creating and delivering presentations, PowerPoint decks, and project plans, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  
  
• 2+ years working with tools such as Atlassian (JIRA/Confluence), Clarity, and/or Cloud-based platforms (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud).
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• 
  
  
• Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), or PMI's Agile Certified Professional (ACP) certification.
  
  
• SAFe certified - SAFe Agilist or SAFe Scrum Master.
  
  
• Servant leadership experience as Scrum Master on an Agile Release Train, with familiarity with product/project development experience on Agile Teams in a technology-focused organization.
