Pharmacy Solutions for Hospitals

At Cardinal Health, our Health System Pharmacy team provides customized pharmacy program solutions that reduce costs and improve patient care quality for hospitals and health systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review medical orders and promote adherence to hospital protocols and policies.
  • Provide expert advice on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and proper medication storage.
  • Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians to ensure accurate and efficient dispensing.
  • Maintain accurate records of all prescription medications received and dispensed.
  • Develop and implement policies for accurate dispensing and labeling of prescriptions.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and staff to optimize patient pharmacotherapy and provide cost-effective therapeutic alternatives.
  • Document pharmaceutical interventions and maintain statistics on interventions.
  • Comply with infection control practices and maintain a high level of competence through ongoing education and training.
  • Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in pharmacy required.
    • PR active license and registration required.
    • Minimum 2+ years of experience in hospital pharmacy preferred.
    • Strong communication and attention to detail skills.
    • Fully bilingual English and Spanish oral and written required.
    • Position is on-call to cover employees' licenses and/or weekends as needed.
    • Covid-19 vaccination required.
