Job Summary

The ASM Global Assistant General Manager will oversee the day-to-day activities of various departments within the venue, fostering a collaborative environment to maximize efficiency and revenue. This role involves reinforcing a "one team" approach, ensuring effective communication, and providing exceptional customer service to internal and external clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Improve operational efficiency by promoting a "one team" environment and departmental synergies.
  • Oversee departments such as Booking, Marketing, Finance, Food and Beverage, Box Office, Advertising, Security, Production, Operations, Parking, and related operations.
  • Coordinate, implement, and administer specific plans and programs prescribed by the General Manager and corporate directives.
  • Implement facility policies and goals in accordance with the ASM Global management contract, client's objectives, and corporate policy.
  • Meet regularly with department heads to review activity, budget reports, planning needs, projects, personnel, key obstacles, and reasons for celebration.
  • Ensure contractor compliance within the facility, adhering to established policies and procedures assigned by the General Manager.
  • Build special project teams as needed to create quality deliverables.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, tenants, employees, contractors, public, and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure all codes, laws, ordinances, policies, procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules, regulations, and emergency procedures are followed.
  • Implement processes and procedures to establish "best practices" and maintain customer service standards.
  • Assist in preparing the annual budget and capital project budget for future repairs and improvements to the venue.
  • Respond to crowd control and/or crowd management situations in a prompt, calm, and decisive manner during crisis situations.
  • Be able to step in for the General Manager for meetings, presentations, and addressing client concerns as needed.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and disciplinary actions for staff.
  • Interview, hire, and train staff.
  • Remain current on national trends in the industry and local market changes that affect the facility.

Qualifications
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with confidential information and maintain a cooperative environment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, facility operating standards, and building maintenance.
  • Supervisory skills, including conflict resolution, motivation, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to manage a facility of the same size and type.
  • Flexible schedule, including early mornings, days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended workdays.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and event management software.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish and English.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Business, or Hospitality.
  • 5 years of experience in venue management at a senior level.
