Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Radiography Assistant to join our team at Advocate Health. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to our radiology department, ensuring seamless patient flow and efficient operations.
Main Responsibilities:
• Assist in answering phones, scheduling patients, and completing necessary paperwork.
• Page physicians and perform required RIS/PACS computer functions.
• Maintain a clean and organized film library, processing stat readings, downloading, and burning CDs as needed.
• Assist radiographers with difficult patients, maneuvering carts, and positioning patients.
• Maintain adequate levels of supplies, preparing necessary items prior to exams and cleaning and stocking exam rooms.
Requirements:
• High school graduate with 6-12 months of experience in a healthcare setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of computers and ability to learn new software quickly.
• CPR certification and ability to work weekends, holidays, and emergency call-backs as needed.
Working Conditions:
• May be exposed to disease and film processing chemicals.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance and use patient handling equipment when necessary.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
