The Assistant General Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Commissary. This includes effectively managing Warehouse Managers, Supervisors, Leads, Drivers, and Warehouse Workers, as well as interfacing with Amtrak personnel.
Key Responsibilities- Manage Warehouse Operations Managers and staff to ensure operational excellence in all warehouse/commissary areas.
- Implement and drive strategies to achieve Company and client objectives.
- Assist the General Manager with problem-solving and evaluation of work methods, procedures, controls, and staffing.
- Coach, train, and develop warehouse managers and staff through formal training programs and informal feedback.
- Ensure compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreement, Disciplinary Guidelines/Work Rules, and Attendance Policy.
- Model and lead Recognition and Safety culture, and utilize operations leadership skills to enhance client partnerships and create a positive Commissary work environment.
- Recruit, hire, train, coach, and counsel Warehouse staff to provide ongoing support and development.
- Leverage leadership skills to set goals for front-line teams and provide regular performance feedback.
- At least 3-5 years of relevant experience managing an operations team.
- Key experience in customer service leadership, foodservice or route sales operations, performance management, training, and development of front-line managers/personnel.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Valid driver's license and ability to obtain DOT certification to operate DOT-regulated vehicles.
