We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team at Children's National Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing payroll, resolving errors, maintaining related records, and administering state tax accounts.
Key Responsibilities- Process payroll data from external sources and resolve processing errors
- Maintain payroll records and administer state tax accounts
- Create periodic tax and garnishment files
- Provide technical assistance to Payroll Representatives
- Process budget retro transactions and prepare accounting reports
- Assist with coordination of Business Continuity Plan tasks
- Work closely with Payroll Manager and Human Resource staff on special projects
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (required)
- Minimum 5 years of payroll processing experience and 2 years of lead or supervisory experience (required)
- Knowledge of payroll practices and compliance with federal and state laws
- Knowledge of automated payroll and timekeeping systems
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
