We are seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our team at True Food Kitchen. As a Line Cook, you will play a critical role in preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook a variety of starters, entrees, pizzas, and more using a range of kitchen equipment and techniques.
- Know and comply consistently with portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
- Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to ensure a smooth service.
- Portion food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work station and corresponding equipment.
- Execute proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
- Handle, store, and rotate all products properly and according to standards.
- Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
- Open and close the kitchen properly, assist others, and follow checklists for kitchen stations.
- Understand and follow proper rules of hygiene and food safety measures.
- Participate in proactive communication to help avoid and solve operational, HR, and financial issues.
- Experience in a minimum of one of the following stations: Pantry, Pastry, Pizza, Wok, Saute, Grill.
- Experience in more than one station is a plus.
- Preferably have at least 6 months experience in a similar capacity in a high-volume restaurant.
- Flexibility and availability to work nights, holidays, and/or weekends.
- Exceptional knife skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Read and execute a recipe.
- A love of making great food and understanding the accountability of presenting quality dishes.
