Mentor Technical Group is seeking a skilled Electrician Technician to join our team. As a world leader in life science engineering and technical solutions, we provide comprehensive support and solutions for the FDA-regulated industry.
Responsibilities:- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Ensure work is in accordance with relevant codes.
- Install or service streetlights, intercom systems, or electrical control systems.
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.
- Maintain electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes at state and federal levels.
- Demonstrate mechanical knowledge.
- Competent with programming of VFD's. Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot PLC's.
- Perform duties in a work environment that will be hot, cold, dirty, and fast-paced.
- Able to complete forms, such as time sheets and work order request forms.
- Work overtime when required, including weekends and/or holidays.
- Attend emergency calls outside of normal working hours, if available.
- Perform all duties in a safe and proper manner, complying with EHS policies.
- Ensure all documents are completed, complying with GMP's practices when required.
- Provide cover for other members of staff during holidays, sickness, or other absences and in emergencies.
- Be proactive with people, keeping them informed; maintain positive relations and demonstrate good customer care.
- Execute preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and general repair work on specific assigned working areas/sites of mechanical, electrical systems, and equipment.
- Perform effectively inspections, testing, and emptying secondary containment systems (dams). Correct deficiencies found in inspections.
- Report any spills immediately to your supervisor.
- Take readings of the hours of operation of boilers and fuel consumption. Take readings of the hours of operation of generators and fire pumps. Receive diesel for boilers and emergency generators.
- Ensure boilers flow meters are calibrated in the set frequency.
- Ensure accuracy of generators and fire pumps data taking.
- Monitor/document effectively routinely operational parameters to ensure optimum control and regulatory compliance.
- Report any deviation.
- Provide maintenance to critical measurement equipment and tools, reporting failures and repair if necessary.
- Analyze fuel and water consumption to detect irregularities and take action if necessary.
- Ensure the leak detection system of dikes is operating properly (buoy system). Identify gaps in the utility systems and take action to repair and put into normal operation.
- Strictly follow company's safety and cGMP policies and procedures.
- Able to work extra hours, at night, or on weekends and irregular shifts.
- Able to respond to emergency calls.
- Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Technical College Electrician Degree.
- Licensed Electrician awarded by the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and 3 to 5 years of experience.
