**Restaurant Operations Management**
Benihana is looking for an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead their dining establishment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing daily restaurant operations, including front-of-house employee selection, development, and performance management. They will oversee inventory and ordering of food and supplies, aiming to optimize profits while ensuring guest satisfaction.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Oversee and manage all restaurant areas, making final decisions on guest service issues.
- Investigate and resolve food quality and service complaints, communicating with guests and employees to solve problems.
- Supervise cleaning and maintenance of equipment, arranging for repairs and contracts as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Coordinate scheduling of departments and ensure accurate data entry.
- Actively participate in store-level events, initiatives, and marketing activities.
**Food Safety and Planning:**
The successful candidate will ensure sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas. They will also supervise inventories, estimate food and beverage costs, and minimize waste by controlling portion sizes and quantities.
**Financial Management:**
As a Restaurant Manager, you will review financial information, monitor budgets, and take action to prevent deviation from budget limitations. You will also ensure that all financial and employee-related administrative duties are completed accurately and on time.
**Employee Development:**
The ideal candidate will provide direction to employees, conduct new hire orientations, and train employees on the company's mission, culture, and guest experience objectives. They will also develop employees by providing ongoing feedback and conducting performance reviews.
**Requirements:**
To be successful in this role, you will need at least one to three years of management-level hospitality and/or restaurant work experience, or a minimum of six months as a Shift Supervisor at Benihana with good performance results. You should also possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent, proficiency in food planning and preparation, and knowledge of computers (MS Word, Excel). A valid driver's license and eligibility to work in the United States are also required.
