Physician (Psychiatry) Specialist

**Overview:**

The Defense Health Agency is seeking an exceptional Physician (Psychiatry) to join our team at Rodriguez Army Health Clinic in Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, providing high-quality medical care to our patients.

As a Physician (Psychiatry), you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating mental health conditions, including psychosis, organic brain syndrome, substance abuse, and addiction. You will also provide continuing follow-up care for inpatients and outpatients with acute and/or disorders and complications of these disorders.

**Responsibilities:**

• Diagnose and treat mental health conditions using your expertise in psychiatry.

• Provide continuing follow-up care for inpatients and outpatients with acute and/or disorders and complications of these disorders.

• Conduct thorough studies of presenting patients and evaluate laboratory and clinical findings, prescribing appropriate treatment or referring patients to appropriate specialty clinics.

• Collaborate with physicians in other medical specialties on cases involving complicated and multifaceted problems.

• Provide professional consultation, supervision, and collaborative medical support to other professional staff, such as psychologists, advanced practical nurses, mental health specialists, social workers, as well as military-specific liaison work with commanders.

• Supervise and/or medically support non-medical mental health providers in Community Mental Health Service and Emergency Room.

**Qualifications:**

• US Citizenship required

• Board Certified Psychiatrist REQUIRED

• Must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

**Estimated Salary:** $180,000 - $220,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
