Job Title: Housekeeper - Day Shift

We are seeking a dedicated and professional housekeeper to join our growing Housekeeping Group. As a General Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment for APL.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform general sweeping, scrubbing, and mopping of floors
  • Dust and polish furniture and room accessories as needed
  • Dispose of trash and recyclables from bins and containers
  • Sanitize sinks, basins, showers, and toilets in common area restrooms
  • Clean windows, glass surfaces, mirrors, and counters as necessary
  • Keep all public spaces neat and tidy
  • Report repairs and replacements when encountered during your shift
  • Maintain all cleaning equipment, supplies, and products
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent training and experience
  • Minimum of 2 years cleaning experience; additional training will be provided
  • Ability to lift up to 25-30 pounds
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and reach, stretch, and bend during daily routine
  • Organized and able to build an independent cleaning schedule
  • Ability to follow verbal and written directions in English
  • Customer service experience
  • Reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years experience on motorized cleaning equipment

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
