Facilities Supervisor

The Senior Custodian is a key member of our facilities team, responsible for ensuring the safe and orderly operation of our facilities. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean and well-maintained facility, ensuring the safety and integrity of the physical environment.
- Provide ongoing assessments of the facility to ensure it meets the needs of our clients and staff.
- Inspect and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including fire safety and OSHA standards.
- Manage the Salesforce-based work order system and respond to customer requests in a timely and courteous manner.
- Act as liaison to custodial and maintenance staff in the absence of the Facility Manager and provide excellent customer service.
- Be on-call and ensure 24-hour emergency coverage for the property at all times.
- Coordinate and supervise office moves, minor construction projects, and logistics planning as needed.
- Implement and maintain cleaning schedules and advise the Facility Manager on personnel requirements, material needs, and subcontract requirements.
- Refer projects to the Construction & Engineering Department and collaborate with them as needed.
- Attend relevant training courses and ensure staff attends required trainings.
- Support and participate in advocacy and direct action to end the twin crises of AIDS and homelessness.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Excellent internal and external customer service skills
- Exceptional computer software skills, including MS Office suite and Salesforce
- Ability to travel for job-related business
- Demonstrated ability to think critically and exercise good judgment
- Good communication, interpersonal, coaching, and administrative skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Dependable and flexible, with the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Some project management experience preferred
- Familiarity with OSHA, fire safety, and regulatory compliance for residential buildings and facilities in New York City
