We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to perform account reconciliations, investigations, and support process improvements.

  • Investigate and analyze reconciliation items for accounts within the assigned period.
  • Maintain organized records of referred reconciliation items and their follow-ups with insurance and brokerage companies.
  • Prepare and submit monthly income accruals related to pending items in the reconciliation.
  • Communicate with the business to ensure cases included in the accrual are billed and removed during the next month.
  • Support the investigation and analysis unit, particularly in check payments, registrations, and printing.
  • Identify cases requiring reporting under the unclaimed funds account and use alternative procedures to reach customers.
  • Design, develop, implement, and support improvement projects for the insurance business.
  • Recommend process modifications and utilize available tools to enhance existing processes.
  • Ensure Popular Risk makes checks requisitions to insurance companies for COBRA payments received.
  • Manage balances of PR government insurance commissions in the account receivable account.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • At least one or two years of related experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Windows Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Detail oriented with analytical aptitude.
  • Effective communication and writing skills in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines.
