The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Molecular Pathology Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our clinical molecular diagnostics laboratory, you will play a critical role in performing complex genetic testing and assays, utilizing advanced technology and techniques such as PCR, capillary electrophoresis, and fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH).
Key Responsibilities- Perform clinical and research work utilizing molecular techniques and assays, nucleic acid isolations, and polymerase chain reaction (PCR)
- Work under the supervision of the Medical Director, Division Director, Operations Director, Manager, and Lead Technologist(s)
- Verify and report test results, and perform quality control, proficiency testing, quality assurance, and preventative maintenance on instrumentation
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure accurate and timely testing services
- Bachelor's degree in medical technology or a biological science with post-degree experience in Molecular Biology
- MT (ASCP) certification within one year of hire or MB (ASCP) certification within two years of hire
- Background in genetics and biochemistry desired
- Experience with fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) techniques
