Description

As a School Principal at The Children's Guild, you will play a crucial role in creating a motivating and engaging learning environment for our diverse student population.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, evaluate, and modify instructional programs
  • Manage school resources, including human, financial, and physical assets
  • Establish effective relationships with students, parents, staff, and community groups
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and oversee the IEP process
  • Create a safe, secure, and inclusive learning environment
  • Serve as The Children's Guild's representative to Local Education Agencies

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in special education
  • Eligibility for Maryland professional certificate as a special education supervisor or principal
  • Eligibility for Advanced Professional Certificate (APC) with Administrator I & II endorsement
  • 5+ years of satisfactory teaching and/or administrator experience in special education
  • Ability to achieve successful scores on the School Leaders Licensure Assessment
  • Thorough understanding of COMAR regulations and IDEA
  • Staff development and curriculum design
  • Experience in brain-based learning and experiential education
  • Strong public relations and interpersonal skills
  • Worked effectively with diverse populations
  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement
