Description
As a School Principal at The Children's Guild, you will play a crucial role in creating a motivating and engaging learning environment for our diverse student population.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, evaluate, and modify instructional programs
- Manage school resources, including human, financial, and physical assets
- Establish effective relationships with students, parents, staff, and community groups
- Ensure regulatory compliance and oversee the IEP process
- Create a safe, secure, and inclusive learning environment
- Serve as The Children's Guild's representative to Local Education Agencies

Qualifications:
- Masters degree in special education
- Eligibility for Maryland professional certificate as a special education supervisor or principal
- Eligibility for Advanced Professional Certificate (APC) with Administrator I & II endorsement
- 5+ years of satisfactory teaching and/or administrator experience in special education
- Ability to achieve successful scores on the School Leaders Licensure Assessment
- Thorough understanding of COMAR regulations and IDEA
- Staff development and curriculum design
- Experience in brain-based learning and experiential education
- Strong public relations and interpersonal skills
- Worked effectively with diverse populations
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement
